CapCad adds one tab to your CAD's ribbon. Inside it, the panels are grouped by area — alignments and the project, road markings, traffic signs, barriers, GIS and coordinates, reports, CAD utilities, and the CapCad system panel itself. The topics in this manual follow the same grouping, so a command you can see on the ribbon is a command you can find here.
The ribbon you get depends on the active country profile: each profile loads its own menu file, so the panels, the button labels and the presets behind them match the country you work in. Switching profile with CAPCAD_COUNTRY_STANDARDS swaps the menu, the library, the norm references and the keyboard shortcuts in one step.
Installation
If you have not installed CapCad yet, get it from the Downloads page.
Turning the CapCad shortcuts on and off
CapCad ships its own command aliases — short names you type on the command line, such as ALN, CC, IV or DV. They can be switched on or off at any time, because they can collide with aliases you already use.
Run CAPCAD_SHORTCUTS (ribbon: CapCad tab › CapCad panel › System split button › Suggested Command Shortcuts). The window lists every alias it finds, and two buttons decide whether they apply:
- Activate puts the CapCad Support folder first on the CAD's support path, so CapCad's alias file wins.
- Deactivate sends it to the end, giving the CAD's own alias file precedence.
Either way the change takes effect in the next CAD session — or immediately if you run REINIT and tick PGP.
